VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Bring Local Care close to home
Hospice volunteers provide a wide range of services, depending on their skills, interests, and the needs of the patients and families. Some common roles include:
Patient & Family Support
COMPANIONSHIP
Visiting with patients, listening to their stories, and offering emotional support.
RESPITE CARE
Giving family caregivers a break by sitting with the patient.
READING OR WRITING
Reading to patients, writing letters, or helping with memory books.
LIGHT HOUSEHOLD HELP
Running errands, light cleaning, or preparing simple meals.
PET THERAPY
If trained, bringing therapy animals to provide comfort.
Administrative Support
CLERICAL WORK
Assisting with paperwork, answering phones, or organizing files at the hospice office.
FUNDRAISING & EVENTS
Helping with charity events, auctions, or awareness campaigns.
Special Talents & Skills
MUSIC OR ART THERAPY
Playing instruments, singing, or leading arts and crafts.
SPIRITUAL SUPPORT
Praying with patients or reading scripture (if requested).
VETERAN SUPPORT
Honor Ceremonies, Participating in veteran recognition programs Companionship for Fellow Veterans – Many veteran patients find comfort in talking with someone who has also served.
