PALLIATIVE CARE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS PALLIATIVE CARE, AND HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM HOSPICE?
Palliative care is supportive medical care focused on relieving symptoms and stress for patients living with serious illnesses, while they continue curative treatments. Unlike hospice, palliative care is not limited to end-of-life and can begin at any stage of illness.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM ARDEN'S PALLIATIVE CARE PROGRAM?
Patients with conditions such as cancer, COPD, CHF, kidney disease, or other complex illnesses who are experiencing pain, fatigue, or emotional stress may benefit from our palliative services—even while still seeing specialists or undergoing treatment.
IS PALLIATIVE CARE AVAILABLE AT HOME?
Yes. Arden’s palliative care is provided in the comfort of your home. Our A-Team nurses work closely with your doctors to manage symptoms, provide emotional support, and reduce the need for frequent hospital visits.
WHAT SYMPTOMS CAN PALLIATIVE CARE HELP WITH?
We help manage pain, shortness of breath, fatigue, nausea, depression, anxiety, and more. Our goal is to improve your comfort and quality of life throughout your illness.
WILL MY INSURANCE COVER PALLIATIVE CARE?
Coverage varies by provider and plan, but many insurance companies, including Medicare Advantage, offer some level of palliative care coverage. Our team will help verify your benefits and explain your options.
CAN I KEEP SEEING MY REGULAR DOCTOR WHILE RECEIVING PALLIATIVE CARE?
Absolutely. Palliative care is a team approach. We coordinate with your primary doctor and specialists to make sure your care is aligned and comprehensive.
HOW DO I GET STARTED WITH PALLIATIVE CARE THROUGH ARDEN?
